How to do Soleus Stretch
StandingHoldBoth sidesBeginner
Soleus Stretch is a standing stretch for your ankles, calves and feet. Do it on one side, then switch.
Step by step
- 1Stand tall with your hands on your hips.
- 2Step your left foot forward a little way then keep your right heel down and gently bend both knees.
What you should feel
Feel the stretch low in your right calf, near the ankle.
Form tips
- Press the right heel firmly into the floor. Back knee bends forward over the toes. Feel the stretch deep in the lower right calf.
- Keep your right heel heavy on the floor.
- Stay tall… let your breath be slow.
Make it easier
Keep the bend small if your ankle feels sensitive.
Coming out of it
On your next exhale… straighten your legs… and bring your feet together.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
