How to do Ear-to-Shoulder
SeatedHoldBoth sidesBeginner
Ear-to-Shoulder is a seated stretch for your neck and shoulders. Do it on one side, then switch.
Step by step
- 1Stand or sit with a straight back and arms at your sides.
- 2Tilt your head to one side, bringing your ear toward your shoulder.
- 3Place your opposite hand behind your back.
- 4With the other hand, gently pull down on the top of your head.
What you should feel
Let your right shoulder melt down.
Form tips
- Keep your back straight and shoulders relaxed. Maintain a neutral chin position; do not lift or tuck it.
- Feel the right side of your neck slowly open.
- No pulling… just resting.
Make it easier
If it feels like too much, take your hand away.
Coming out of it
Lower your hand… gently lift your head… and come back to center.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
