How to do Good Mornings
StandingFlowing movementBeginner
Good Mornings is a standing flowing stretch for your hamstrings, core and lower back.
Step by step
- 1Stand with feet hip-width apart and hands behind your head.
- 2Hinge at your hips, lowering your torso while keeping your back straight.
- 3Return to standing slowly and repeat.
What you should feel
Keep your back long and flat.
Form tips
- Maintain a neutral spine. Engage your core to support your lower back. Keep a slight bend in your knees.
- Feel the backs of your legs gently stretch.
- Move slowly… let your breath lead.
Make it easier
Rest your hands on your thighs if your shoulders or back need a break.
Coming out of it
Come up to standing… and lower your arms.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
