How to do Arm-Out Wrist Extension

StandingHoldBoth sidesBeginner

Arm-Out Wrist Extension is a standing stretch for your fingers, forearms and hands. Do it on one side, then switch.

Step by step

  1. 1Stand tall and reach your right arm straight out in front of you.
  2. 2Bend your hand back so your fingers point up and use your left hand to gently draw them back toward you.

What you should feel

Keep your right arm long and soft.

Form tips

  • Palm faces forward, elbow long. Shoulders down and relaxed. Feel the stretch through the forearm and palm.
  • Feel the inside of your forearm slowly open.
  • Let your shoulders stay low.

Make it easier

If your wrist is sore, just bend the hand back without pulling.

Coming out of it

Let go of your fingers… and lower your arm.

Muscles it works

Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
