How to do Cow Face
SeatedHoldBoth sidesIntermediate
Cow Face is a seated stretch for your shoulders and triceps. Do it on one side, then switch.
Step by step
- 1Stand nice and tall.
- 2Reach your left arm up, bend your elbow, and let your left hand slide down your back.
- 3Then reach your right hand up behind you, and try to meet it.
What you should feel
Let your left elbow point to the sky.
Form tips
- Left elbow points to the ceiling. Chest open, ribs soft. Feel both shoulders opening in opposite directions.
- Feel your shoulders slowly open.
- Breathe into your chest.
Make it easier
If your hands don't meet, hold a towel between them.
Coming out of it
Gently let go… and float both arms back down.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
