How to do Wall Chest Stretch

StandingHoldBoth sidesBeginner

Wall Chest Stretch is a standing stretch for your biceps, chest and shoulders. Do it on one side, then switch.

Step by step

  1. 1Stand with your left side next to a wall.
  2. 2Reach your left arm back and press your palm flat on the wall at shoulder height.
  3. 3Rest your right hand on your hip.

What you should feel

Let your left shoulder soften back.

Form tips

  • Shoulder down and back. Turn the chest gently away from the wall. Feel the chest and front of the shoulder open.
  • Feel the front of your chest slowly open.
  • Breathe in… and let your ribs widen.

Make it easier

If your shoulder feels pinchy, slide your hand lower on the wall.

Coming out of it

Gently release your hand… and let your arm float down.

Muscles it works

Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
