How to do Leg Swings
StandingFlowing movementBoth sidesBeginner
Leg Swings is a standing flowing stretch for your groin, calves and hips. Do it on one side, then switch.
Step by step
- 1Stand with feet hip-width apart and hands on hips.
- 2Shift weight to one leg.
- 3Lift the opposite leg slightly off the floor.
- 4Swing the lifted leg forward and backward in a controlled motion.
What you should feel
Let the leg swing like a pendulum.
Form tips
- Keep the standing leg slightly bent. Stabilize your upper body; let the movement come from your hip. Start with small swings and gradually increase the range.
- Small is fine.
- Keep breathing.
Coming out of it
Let it slow down… and come to stillness.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
